Dafina Ganeva

Dafina works with adults and young people and has extensive experience of working therapeutically with bereaved clients.

“I qualified and started working as a counsellor because I’m very passionate about helping people. We all will at some stage or another go through difficult times in our lives. I believe that there is no reason for anyone to continue to feel anxious or depressed. I also believe that anyone can change their life as long as they want to and have the right kind of support. Asking for help is the biggest and the most important step so well done. You are on the right path.”

Dafina trained as an integrative counsellor and that is how she works. Although her main modalities are psychodynamic and person centred approaches, she believes that everyone’s needs are different and so she tailors her approach around the needs of each and every client. “What works for some might not work for others, so we will try to find out together what works best for you”.

Dafina uses some CBT techniques, a lot from the Human Givens approach, some art therapy, therapeutic writing and meditation. She works with her clients with a great deal of honesty and believes that the relationship between her and her clients is one of the most important aspects of therapy.

Dafina is Bulgarian and she offers counselling in Bulgarian and Macedonian as well as English. She works in Peckham from South London Therapy Group, a five minute walk from Peckham Rye station.

Each session lasts 50 minutes. She also offers a reduced fee for student counsellors.
