Katherine Watt

Katherine is a person-centred counsellor, working with adults

I’m a perceptive, warm and understanding therapist, trained in the person-centred approach. I believe counselling can offer a useful place in which to address specific issues, come to terms with difficult experiences, and understand yourself - and your relationships with others - better.

My way of working is to help you explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, within a collaborative therapeutic relationship that values you for the person you are.

I work with adults from a diverse range of backgrounds, with a variety of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Family and relationship problems

  • Work-related stress

  • Loneliness

  • Separation and divorce

  • Carer support

  • Bereavement

I have extensive experience of counselling women as they prepare for and adjust to motherhood, and I've co-facilitated a support group for new mums.

My background is in delivering support services to people with long-term conditions such as Parkinson's disease and dementia, and their carers, families and friends. I’m registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
