Laura Phillips

Laura is an accredited BACP Person-centred therapist working with adults.

Person-centred counselling and psychotherapy is a sensitive exploration of a person’s inner world, based on the idea that within a safe and caring therapeutic relationship, people may develop self-awareness and self-acceptance, and ultimately find the power within themselves to move forward.

I offer a warm, collaborative relationship to help clients explore issues of concern or trauma, so that they can begin to see things more clearly and draw upon their own inner strengths to face life’s challenges.

I will follow where clients lead, avoiding analysis, techniques or advice. I will stay alongside clients in whatever they are wanting to address, be it depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, or other issues that are troubling or challenging them.

I have a first-class honors degree in Person-centred psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute in London, which is a leading counselling and psychotherapy training institution.

In addition to private practice, I have worked in a variety of settings including a university counselling service, a domestic violence charity and a local community counselling service. I am a qualified Probation Officer and I am currently training to be a supervisor for other therapists.

I offer sessions in person in Peckham and London Bridge, online and over the telephone. I am available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
