Marina is an integrative psychotherapist working with adults

Life can be overwhelming sometimes. During therapy, I will work in supporting you through challenging times and I will teach you skills that will allow you to deal with difficult emotions in a healthy and more flexible way.  Understanding that your thoughts are not necessarily the truth is a truly liberating experience and I will help you to gain emotional responsibility and be more in control of the emotions that may be disturbing you.

I can help you if you find yourself stuck in a rut of unhelpful patterns, struggling with negative emotions, like anxiety, depression or anger, indecision, or self-confidence. I strive to create a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you will be heard without fear of judgment. My ability to enable you to quickly focus on working towards achievable goals and incorporating healthier ways of thinking will greatly improve your approach to overcoming the difficulties and obstacles that life presents.

As everyone experiences negative emotions differently, I work best by tailoring the sessions to your specific needs using a range of different tools and techniques – an integrative approach.

I was born in Madrid and that’s where I grew up and qualified as a Psychologist in 2012. I moved to London in 2013 and have made my life here and am completely integrated into British culture. I am totally bilingual – English (native speaker level) and Spanish (mother tongue) and also bicultural, having spent the last 10 years of my life living in London immersed in British culture, so am well able to take on both English and Spanish speaking clients. Since arriving, I’ve qualified as an REBT/CBT therapist and am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society. I am also an EMDR therapist and trained in Compassion Focused Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

My experience has involved seeing adult clients of varying nationalities both privately, through Anxiety UK and voluntary work at Headstrong and my private practice. In these sessions, I have dealt with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-confidence, shame and guilt, and any other emotional disturbance. I strongly feel that I’ve always very quickly been able to create a safe environment in which to explore the issues to be worked on collaboratively. Also, my ability to empathize with a wide variety of people and quickly establish a relaxed atmosphere of trust makes for extremely productive sessions.

I work face to face (Based in South London) and online.

I also offer a 15 minute free initial consultation where we can discuss the issues you would like to deal with, see if we could be a good fit and have the opportunity to ask me any doubt you may have about my practice.
